Educator & Provider Information:

The Bee Inspired CAPP Program works with school districts to meet the Iowa Code 279.50, which was passed in 2007.  The Human Growth & Development mandate states that school districts are required to provide age-appropriate, medically accurate, and evidence-based instruction (comprehensive) in the following topics:

  • Domestic Abuse
  • Health and wellness literacy
  • Human Sexuality
  • Interpersonal Relationships
  • Self Esteem
  • Sexual exploitation by means of the Internet
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) including Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and HIV/AIDS
  • Stress Management

What can the Bee Inspired CAPP Program do?

  • Implement approved evidence-based curricula.  (A list is available on the EyesOpenIowa website, located here).
    • The Bee Inspired CAPP Program Coordinator is a Certified Sexual Health Educator, & trained in the following curricula:

      • Reducing Risky Behaviors

      • Communication with Peers, Parents/Caregivers, Partners, & other Trusted Adults

      • Identifying Community Resources
      • & Much More
  • Provide assistance to schools within Hamilton, Humboldt, Wright, Hancock, & Cerro Gordo Counties to determine which evidence-based curriculum and/or topical presentations would best suit the needs of their school district.

All services are provided for FREE through a grant from the Iowa Department of Human Services and EyesOpenIowa.
