Bee Involved: The Bee Inspired CAPP Advisory Council provides youth and adults an opportunity to come together to share ideas, speak up, raise awareness, & engage the community!

Who: Parents/caregivers, school representatives, family service providers, local businesses, local health care providers, faith communities, immigrant communities, teens, juvenile court officers, prevention and outreach staff, and other community stakeholders are welcome to participate as an active, informed, or collaborative member.

What: The Council meets every-other-month to discuss needs and provide oversight to the comprehensive programming provided throughout Franklin, Hamilton, and Wright Counties. This includes implementing evidenced-based/informed curricula and programs, fostering community relationships, increasing youth input and development activities, providing parent/approachable adult education and workshops, increasing access to health education and family planning services, & more!

Where: In-person meetings are tentatively scheduled for the Building Families office, located in Clarion at the Wright County Professional Building. Virtual meetings will take place via Zoom platform.

When: Effective August 2019, the Advisory Council will meet from 12-1:15pm on the 4th Tuesday of every-other-month, unless otherwise specified.

Why: Our Mission is to Empower all youth to make healthy informed decisions through education, prevention, community awareness, & access! Our Goals are to reduce teen pregnancy rates, additional pregnancies to teen parents, and STD/STI rates by providing a continuum of services and supports in Franklin, Hamilton, and Wright Counties that develop protective factors in youth.

Results:

  1. Enhance the health, growth, and development of children and adults in the family unit.
  2. Improve the coordination and collaboration of youth development programs.
  3. Communities will be safe and support children and their families.
